Here are the proud winners of the previous SOBA NRW Community Award of Excellence.

Community Award of Excellence winner 2011

Joseph Aurelien Kana has been working in social development projects in Cameroon for over ten years. He co-founded the organisation "New Generation" in Munich in 2002 and the partner organisation "Fondation Kana" in Cameroun in 2009. He is currently a Senior Quality Consultant at PENTASYS AG, a consulting and Software Company. Joseph lives with his family in Munich and holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Munich University of applied Sciences. He is the 2011 SOBA NRW Community Award of Excellence winner. Through the German "Startsocial" competition in 2009, Joseph and New Generation won a scholarship as one of the 100 best projects with the project "renewable energies in the school".

 


 

Community Award of Excellence winner 2010

 Fred-Eric Essam understands himself as a "global citizen". He left Cameroon in his teens, under a scholarship to study biomedical engineering in Germany. He is founder of the non-profit agency ident.africa with the lofty goal of providing basic education in Africa. Eric is strongly dedicated to the community and is always working on how to impact rural development in the Sub-Saharan region.


 

Community Award of Excellence winner 2009

Veye Tatah is a computer scientist. After her studies, she worked as scientific assistant in the computer science department of the University of Applied Sciences in Dortmund. She is currently a self-employed consultant and Project Manager in Information management as well as in cultural and political affairs. She is the founder of the Africa Positive Association and also editor-in-chief of the magazine. In addition to that, she is the proprietor of the Kilimanjaro Food Catering service. In February 2010, she was awarded the "Bundesverdienstkreuz"  for her engagements.
